Crystal clear news from Poole & Bournemouth... Or is it?

Poole Bridge still hasn't re-opened, meaning the temporary diversions on More 8, 9 and 152 remain in place. When (if?) it does reopen, the 8 and 9 will revert to their usual route and the 152 will switch to this timetable. Exactly when that will happen is anyone's guess.

Since it started, Yellow X37, the shoppers' express service between New Milton and Bournemouth has only run on days when Brockenhurst College is open. But a new timetable kicks in this Monday of which there is no sign on Yellow's website. A look on Traveline however shows that it now runs on some days when the college is not open, including this week, presumably for Christmas shopping, and also on Tuesday 2nd January. It looks like it will also run on all weekdays whether or not the college is open, but maybe that will change back. Who knows? More X1 and X2 run between Lymington and Bournemouth via New Milton several times every day, regardless of whether a college that is not on the route is open.

Monday sees the grand opening of Bournemouth University's new bus hub. But it'll not be in use in the morning and will instead open at some point in the afternoon. When? Who can say? The Unibus routes will all be using it, but More 15 and 17 and the Yellow Uniline routes (U6, U8, U9, U10) won't be using it, sticking to their existing stops on Fern Barrow or Wallisdown Road.

So that's all clear then.

    1. Oops, so it is. I'll amend that. It's still a non Brockenhurst College day on which the X37 will run however.

  3. I see that someone has stuck a handwritten note to a bus stop in Bitterne, informing travellers that First 2 will no longer operate from Bitterne from Jan 21!

    1. I've done that at Bitterne & city centre stops to make folk aware of it. Not all folk use social media & even tho First stated on their site 30/11- I bet First won't put info on buses til say mid-Jan? Some notes have survived whereas others have been removed by whoever soon afterwards.
Even today at work I informed colleagues of early xmas eve finish times of First & they didn't believe me til I showed them online!
Just like sharing info as forewarned is forearmed.

  4. X37 Are you sure, as Yellow Buses PDF timetable (on their website) states College days only!

  5. As SotonBus states there is no sign on the Yellow Bus website, BUT if you look at Traveline the timetable states there will be services from 2nd January on the x37 so someone/body is in error.

    1. The X37 has been amended to operate on all Mondays to Fridays days not just Brockenhurst College days, with the exception that it is not running between Xmas and New Year. The variation took effect from Monday 19th December.

    2. Thanks Ken,

If this is the case then Yellow Buses needs to update their PDF timetables as both journeys are headed Bcol (= college days only!).

    3. They also say "All day travel £4..." but the fares table says these tickets aren't valid.

  6. I've noticed that they also say that the Getting About multi-operator ticket isn't valid between Kinson Park Road and Bournemouth Airport on the B1. Getting About's website specifically mentions that it is!
