Xela cuts but Bluestar doesn't

Following First's decision to withdraw route 11 from 26th May, it had been feared that Bluestar might reduce the 8 now that they have a monopoly again. There is a new timetable from 2nd June on Bluestar 8 and 9 but there is no cut in service, for now at least. Marchwood keeps its evening and Sunday services. The main changes are to the 9 which will no longer serve Kings Ride in Langley. A couple of peak hour 9s will be diverted to terminate at Fawley rather than Langley.

Xelabus X8 will no longer run after this Saturday, but the whole route is already covered by Brijan Tours 8, so it's no real loss.

Stagecoach fares are going up from Sunday. Their website currently won't even give prices for their Dayrider and Megarider season tickets, so we can only guess at how much they will cost.

Next Monday, Xelabus has new timetables on routes X1, X2 and X4. They've not got round to putting them on their website yet, but you can find them on Traveline: X1, X2, X4.

  2. All Bluestar need to do now is to finally running regular services through the New Forest to Lymington, initially perhaps by building upon and extending the hourly terminating 8 from Hythe?

  5. Hey guys be careful. I have heard the operators are getting the authorities and police to close this site down because of slanderous comments. they can also see anonymous and who they have been sent from....

As you are writing anonymously, please tells us how we are expected to evaluate your comment?

Personally I cannot see anything libellous, only adverse comment, which has to be expected about any undertaking.

Has any undertaking and its officers benn called dishonest rogues by way of an example?

And I hope you know that spoken defamation is slander, whilst written is libel.

  7. Its the way certain companies are being portrayed thats caused the concern. Ok so its libel then but whatever this site is being watched......

  8. As libel is a civil matter, why on earth would the Police get involved?

  9. If you post criticism on the big operators websites they simply delete it. It would be good to see them justify their actions on here where they do not have the editorial rights ! A couple of the small operators have been brave enough to do so.
Saw an excellent poster from First on another site explaining their withdrawal of the 11 route. They were full of good intention but rather naive to expect Bluestar to stand back and let it happen.

  10. I just think those who criticise can go too far and therefore there needs to be a curb on how much a person says on here. I know one of the big groups managers told me recently they have referred this site to their solicitors for advice.

  11. Simply host the site overseas!! Can't really do much then.

  12. I suspect that most of the big operators have never even heard of this site! I am sure they have far more important things to do, than worry about the opinions of what amounts to a few bus enthusiasts.

  13. There isn't anything libellous written on this site, so any legal action would be a complete waste of time.

The other thing is that it would be a complete PR disaster. I'd advise younger readers to google the McLibel trail and look at the 90s court case when McDonalds tried to sue two Greenpeace protestors to see how much people's attitudes changed towards towards the brand when a company tried to sue two individuals.

  14. Its still broadcast in the public domain

  15. I have not seen anything libellous on here....
People have voiced their opinions, something which is protected in law.

  16. What a load of twaddle, i cannot imagine the operators are the least bit bothered about the comments here as there seem to be equal numbers of anonymous comments for and against each operator so overall fairly balanced,. If the operators really wanted to silence some libellous comments they would be going after the idiots on the daily echo comments section, now there really is some loons posting comments there.

  17. All of you are seriously wasting your time. There is nothing illegal going on here. Nobody can censor us..... It's a free country and we have FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I've never seen any slanderous comments here anyway. Only honest opinions. Maybe the bus companies should listen to some of us on here and improve their services rather than stupidly trying to silence us... Of course, this may only be rumour as nobody here has presented ANY evidence that the bus companies are actually trying to shut this site down, only hear-say...

  18. Operators most certainly read this site but as for wishing to close it down . . . . why would they?
