Recent and approaching changes

I've been busy moving house so haven't been able to post as often as I'd have liked. As such, this post is a 'limited stop' version.

Starting with changes that have already taken effect:

  • First M1 is up and running for the summer between Eastleigh and Marwell Zoo with selected journeys from and to Southampton.
  • First 10 and 11 in Fareham got a new timetable on 9th April.
  • First 19/19A in Portsmouth have been withdrawn, running for the last time on 21st April.
  • Southbourne S1/S2 have launched with two local routes in Ringwood from this Monday just gone, 24th April.

Coming up in the next few days:

There are more changes on the way across the region after that. See a summary on this page. See the new timetables on the operators' websites or at Traveline.

Also for your interest, Xelabus will be taking over the Wheelers W2 service from 8th May 2017. The route W2 replaced the Xelabus X11 from January. However, now the X11 will return with same timetable as the W2 and operate with new Enviro 200 buses.

  2. Are the Bluestar June changes just minor timetable tinkling?

    1. Yes, as is normal with blue Star, stability is the key, so all minor stuff with one or two enhancements to provide better service and turn the screw on first just another small notch!

    2. Yes interested to notice Bluestar continue to lose money operating service 7. As a shareholder this is not a good move and hardly strategic and the share price has not been well either lately. Maybe time to sell !

    3. Trust me, the operation of route 7 continues to be very strategic, even if it loses a small amount. Think buses bill!

    4. News to me that Bluestar has a share price! Where do I buy!?

Seriously, I'm sure any issues with the Go Ahead share price are wholly unrelated to any money Bluestar might have lost on the 7, and as an observer of the 7 I doubt they have lost any anyway.

    5. BS7 always seems to be well used ,unlike First`s no.10.

  3. The link to the First timetable leads to last April's bus guide.

I suspect a slip of the finger between the masses of un-unpacked moving boxes.

  4. Yellow Buses (Bournemouth Transport) introduces new timetables today, Sunday 30 April 2017, generally a cut back, with earlier last Buses.

All routes are now in alpha format and listed in one book that will fit in a pocket rather a series of A5 books.
