Unilink have some changes on all of their routes from Sunday, but nothing major to be honest. See full details here.
There's also a minor change to More X1/X2 between Lymington and Bournemouth from Monday. See the new timetables on Traveline here for the X1 and here for the X2.
In other news, it looks like the E1 Eastleigh-Winchester is transferring to Stagecoach from 31st October. No word as yet on the E2, so it could be disappearing altogether, leaving Otterbourne with no direct link to Eastleigh. More on that as we get it.
It looks like Stagecoach 36 is disappearing from the same date, which means West Lockerley and the villages between it and Romsey lose their last public transport link.
Xelabus X4 has some changes from the 31st with the withdrawal of late evening services - all buses on that route will be off the road by 8pm.
This is not correct.
ReplyDeleteThe E2 is continuing on its current timetable, also to be operated by Stagecoach. Don't believe everything you read in VOSA website entries!
The 36 is also not being withdrawn but has been won by another operator.
Nice to note the Lockerley area still has a connection to Romsey.Do we yet know who will be the new operator?
DeleteSalisbury Reds!
DeleteWell, I say that, I should have said GSC as it may be operated term time by Bluestar and weekends by Tourist as it only runs on the days that the 39 doesnt....
DeleteThe copy/paste vosa comment left on the previous entry about the E1, says "combined 1hr frequency" which is what it is now with the E2, so I would take that to mean it will continue in its current form.
ReplyDeleteFor the E1 /E2 to be more competitive their weekly season tickets need to be cheaper than the train.
ReplyDeleteEastleigh to Winchester £17.70 on SWT and a train every 30 mins
This will never happen. The E1/E2 is more about intermediate trade than centre to centre, and of course a huge majority of it's users pay nothing at point of use. . . I believe most of the Hampshire tendered services in Eastleigh, Romsey and the Waterside have new contracts from 30th October, so more changes to come on VOSA over the next few weeks.
DeleteThats the point - Eastleigh to Winchester is always on the most expensive area of the season tickets for the bus company's.Like on the BS1 Winchester is £25 a week.

Don't you do the monthly updates for the Hampshire and Dorset area on the First Sunday of the Month anymore.
ReplyDeleteBoth September and October has not been done.
Apologies for the absence of these. They will resume once I've finished the tawdry business of buying a house. In the meantime, don't forget the 'Changes on the way' page, which is always updated with any upcoming changes, often before I've had a chance to write a proper post about them. Use the link at the top of the page or save the following catchy address: http://sotonbus.blogspot.co.uk/p/18th-november-wheelers-w2-w3-w4-w5-new.html
DeleteNo worries - I'm sure most people appreciate you keeping this site together even if real life is getting in the way!

Does anyone know if First Southampton are soon to drop their facebook page?I ask this as nothing has been posted on there for about two months now.
ReplyDeleteFurther developments in Bournemouth. Yellows are stopping the airport bus A1. In it's place the 4C between Ferndown drops to hourly with every other journey renumbered 14 and taking potential holidaygoers a far less tourist friendly route to the airport via Winton (now serving the airport industrial estate before the airport itself). This leaves Hurn Village without a bus service. New is a shoppers service 124 which takes the profitable bit of their old 111 and 24 routes and runs between Purewell and Castlepoint - much of this route is covered by More M1/M2 and Morebus's replacement 24. Meanwhile the remains of Yellows route 24 - now just between Alum Chine and the Town Centre - drops in frequency to hourly and no Sunday service. Details at bybus.co.uk
ReplyDeleteI note it would seem Go South Coast have won the contracts to operate H1/H2 T3/T4 and the 36 between Lockerley and Romsey. At least once again the residents in these areas will have the same standard fare system.
ReplyDeleteDon't think there's many fare payers on these services!
DeleteToday, there arn't many farepayers on any bus services, and the exceptions too this are far and few
DeleteTraveline is now showing the new timetables for H1/H2/T3/T4 as operated by morebus and the 36 as Salisbury Reds. The 36 is cut back to Romsey to Lockerley.
DeleteI would ignore those precise operating brand details because they are both wrong, but yes the routes will be operated by Go South Coast
DeleteSaw a First no.2 returning from Millbronx with a smashed window last night. After all these incidents lately,i`m mightily glad I`m not a bus driver.
ReplyDeleteFirst Southampton have forthcoming timetable changes from 23 Oct,on their website ,for routes 2,3,7 and 10!
