Paulton's Park & Marwell Zoo by bus this summer!

Xelabus have announced a direct bus from Southampton to Paulton's Park. Route X24 starts on 23rd May and will start from Bitterne, running through the city centre on its way to Paulton's. We'll let you know as soon as the timetable is released. It will be a useful alternative to Salisbury Reds X7.

First M1 starts on Good Friday, providing the seasonal link between Eastleigh bus and railway stations and Marwell Zoo. Timetable here.

First M2 launches on 3rd May and will run from Lordshill, via the city centre providing Southampton's first direct link to Marwell Zoo in years. We'll let you know once the timetable is out.

This is definitely the summer to take a few days out by bus!

  1. Checked out the new X11 timetables for Xelabus .I think the fact the bus from Hedge End will get into town at either 7.57 or 8.57am may well put off a few customers who need to be at work by 9am!

  2. An alternative can be found by using Bluestar 3-Much better between Hedge End and Southampton during the day, the spacing of Bluestar 3 and Xelabus X11,but on return the spacing is pretty poor-Still not a lot of difference to how it is at present outward towards Hedge End.

  5. The new Xelabus timetable is now available on the bus from the driver-It includes the new X24 which I note that some journeys will serve Romsey railway station for those who arrive by train and wish to travel to Paulton's Park

Perhaps they just forgot to put 50p in the meter? or someones got the wrong end of the stick again?

    2. As the original poster of the rumour, I hope it isn’t true, but because a company continues to trade, it does not mean it is not in serious trouble. An administrative receiver can be appointed by a secured creditor to recover as can be recovered from the borrower. A company may go in to administration and a deal be created so it can continue with written debts. Trade creditors may suffer from that, notably in pre-pack schemes.
There things are not as cut and dried, as some may think.
Anyhow, as any events will have taken place over the holiday, I doubt anything more official, good or bad, will emerge until sometime after the holiday

  10. Now what we cannot know is whether the deal was between a desiring buyer and a willing seller, or was one between a desperate seller and an obliging buyer.
