Bluestar have revealed the level of service they'll be running over Christmas and New Year, including a limited service on Christmas Day, however the special timetables for that day and New Year's Day are yet to be published.
First Solent have published their new timetables with minor changes for routes 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 18 and X5 from Sunday 4th December.
Salisbury Reds fares go up on Monday 14th November, plus there are timetable changes on routes 87, 88 and Red5.
The Activ8, jointly operated by Stagecoach and Salisbury Reds, got a new timetable on 23rd October.
Cresta Coaches will take over routes 63 and 240 from Stagecoach from 21st November. The new timetables appear in Hampshire County Council's latest travel guide for Winchester.
Salisbury Reds have also announced Christmas service levels.
ReplyDeleteTimetables for the Christmas Bluestar services are now on their site-just search for service 17 say and change the date to the 25th Dec.
ReplyDeleteXelabus have announced their Christmas plans.
ReplyDeleteFirst Southampton have still to announce Christmas plans-though looking at other First area`s we can expect an early finish on Christmas and NYE,no buses on the big day,Special services on Boxing Day.Saturday services inbetween ,with Sunday services on the two Bank Holiday`s-the only question mark seems to hang over New Year`s Day services.
ReplyDeleteThere'll be no surprise on NYD either. It'll be no service like the last 10+ years.
DeleteFirst always provides a rubbish service on the Festive period.
Should be a Sunday Service in Boxing Day and New Year's Day
If my memory serves me right, one year recently they ran the 3 route only on NYD.
DeleteFirst has released the timetables and it's a very poor level of service.
DeleteThe usual early finishes on Xmas Eve and New Year's Eve, Sunday Service on the Bank holidays, with the 9 and 13 running on the 27th, but not the 2nd.
Saturday Sevice on the other days between Christmas and New Year.
And of Course no service on Christmas Day and New Year's Day like usual.
The biggest disappointment is Boxing Day. ALSO NO SERVICE.
Bluestar must be rubbing their hands in glee.
Boxing Day really did come as a shock-as the last few years they have run-shame that Bluestar couldn`t give their drivers the time off to spend with families.
DeleteBluestar already seem to have lost the plot-which would explain their obsession with running 17 and 18`s late on Sunday`s,when trust me there`s no passengers about.
DeleteThink the above poster should get out of bed at that time and actually take a look! They may be surprised, as Sunday's are just as busy as weekdays.
DeleteTrust me I drive them. They are very very quiet after about 9pm on a Sunday.
DeleteI understand that you are not allowed to post on social media, so I doubt your authenticity.
DeleteBuses are NOT busy late on Sunday nights,as anyone who has ever used a bus late on that night will be able to testify.
DeleteI use them all the time and you would not have a clue that it was a Sunday. Plenty of late workers going home and lots of night workers heading in. Perhaps you only do part of your route!?
DeleteSo First Southampton say that services will finish at 8pm on Christmas Eve,with no early finish on route 6? Perhaps someone should tell them that their route 6 runs a lot later than 8pm,as they don`t seem to know that.
ReplyDeleteShhhhh - don't tell them.
DeleteJust waiting for Reece to defend Cityred`s Christmas offering.
ReplyDeleteThis is a blog and NOT social media by the way.
ReplyDeleteThe bit written by Southampton bus is a blog, however the comments section is most certainly social media. Employees of all bus operators are strictly banned from contributing, in their contract! Suggest you consult a solicitor.
DeleteI don't see the problem with bus drivers commenting what so ever they have every right to contribute to this blog
DeleteReece, every company has it written into their contracts that you can not bring the company into disrepute.
DeleteSo yes, every right to contribute to the blog, but also on a sticky wicket if they are talking about their company.
Plenty of them will of course do this talk about the company but I believe in freedom of speech
DeleteIf you believe you have freedom of speech, you are sadly deluded. That was removed from all of us decades ago and bringing your employer into disrepute will always lead to a conversation about your future employment.
DeleteWhat you want, and what people do to keep a hold of their jobs are quite clearly at some strange tangent that you will never understand.
I'm rather surprised first bus are not running on Boxing Day as Southampton FC have a home match on and this would had been good revenue for first bus.
ReplyDeleteAnd 3 bus routes are running on Chirstmas Day the 1X 17X and 18X
Could be because First are pulling out of Southampton altogether in February 2023!
ReplyDeleteI'm still in an absolute shock.
